What’s happening behind the scenes

Every Monetic Pay transaction moves through a lightning-fast digital pipeline. The entire flow happens in seconds, but here’s what’s really going on beneath the surface:

  • 1. Payment Request → Validation
The merchant’s Monetic terminal creates a unique QR containing the amount, merchant ID, and payment checksum.
  • 2. User Scan → Secure Signing
When you scan it, your wallet verifies the data locally, then signs the transaction using passkey or Face ID—no keys stored, no passwords transmitted.
  • 3. Conversion → Settlement
Behind the scenes, dollars are converted to USDC and pushed through Bridge for real-time settlement to the merchant’s address on Base network.
  • 4. Confirmation → Receipt
Both sides get instant on-chain confirmation and a readable receipt in the app. The merchant sees “Payment Received” within seconds.

The result: final-settled funds, no middleman, and full transparency—all inside a user experience that feels as simple as Apple Pay.
